Popcorn Time!

Posted on Sep 2 2023 - 8:48pm

It's once again time for our Popcorn Fundraiser!

Popcorn for Show and Sells can be picked up on 9/3 and 9/5. You may sign up for more than one Show and Sell if you know that your scout will attend.

Download the Trails End App and set up an account for your scout (Three Fires Council, Ottawa Fox Valley District, Pack 801). We are trying something different this year (if you've done show and sells before) and we will be using the Storefront Reservation feature in the app. From the Dashboard, select the "Storefront" icon on the bottom. You can click on highlighted dates to see available Storefront shifts. For each one, click "View Shifts" and then "Sign Up" for the shift you would like. This way we are not clogging up the Pack calendar with Show and Sells. Then just remember instead of logging those sales as Wagon Sales, you will log them as Storefront Sales. Also check back periodically because some dates/locations will be added throughout the sale.

Currently, dates for Show and Sells are:

September 9, 15, 16, 23
October 7, 8, 15

Through the app you can send out emails to friends and family to sell online which will ship directly to your customers. This works great for out of town friends and family!

Use the order form or app to sell door to door. Cash, Check (made out to "Pack 801") or Credit Card (through the app) are accepted. Square credit card readers can be checked out from Stephanie Chabura. Orders will be delivered by mid-November.

Set a Goal! Check out prize levels on the order form.
Sell at least $600 to eliminate your Activity Fee
Sell at least $1100 and you will also be reimbursed for Recharter!

See the "Popcorn Sales Info" link for more detailed information. https://pack801.org/node/9844

Memorial Day Weekend Activities

Posted on May 22 2023 - 9:44pm

We have several service opportunities this weekend to celebrate Memorial Day. Please come join us if you are in town - siblings are also welcome! Please wear Class A uniforms to all events. Here is a list of the events:

* Saturday 5/27 at 9:30am. Flag planting at Whitney Cemetery - 40 Burlington Road, Campton Hills. The boys learn some interesting things about the cemetery and some of the veterans buried there. Then they are given small American flags to plant at the graves of the military veterans. Please make sure to bring some tools to help clean around the graves - brooms, dustpans and the like. Typically this event lasts about one hour. Please sign up here: https://www.pack801.org/node/10600

* Sunday 5/28 at 10:00am. Pack Hike at Gray Willows Farm - 5N949 Corron Rd, Campton Hills. Please sign up here: https://www.pack801.org/node/10599

* Monday 5/29 at 6:00am. Changing of the Flag Ceremony at Whitney Cemetery - 40 Burlington Road, Campton Hills. This is a short flag ceremony (10-15 mins) to honor those buried at Whitney Cemetery as well as all veterans. Ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 AM. Please sign up here: https://www.pack801.org/node/10601

* Veteran Sponsored Breakfast from 7:00am - 9:00am. Baker Memorial Church. Although this is not a service opportunity, I am passing along information about the breakfast for those who may be interested. Uniformed scouts, scout leaders and veterans eat at no cost ($5 per head for all others).

* Monday 5/29 at 9:00am. Memorial Day Parade. Meet at St. Charles Bank parking lot - 411 W. Main Street. Pack 801 was again invited by Troop 60 to join them in the parade and help them carry their gigantic flag. Parking may be available at St. Charles Bank; otherwise parking is available at Thompson. The parade begins at 10:00. Immediately after the parade, there will be a Memorial Service behind the Municipal Building at the Riverwalk Freedom Shrine. Please bring water with you. Posted on May 17 2023 - 10:45am

Our annual Spring Family Campout will be held on May 19-21, 2023 at King's Camp in Chana, IL. King's Camp is a 90+ acre campground that has a lake full of fish, a playground, basketball court, sand volleyball court and gaga pit. There is a bathhouse with showers and flush toilets nearby as well as potable water and some electricity. We have reserved their "Grace Center" which has a kitchen and an indoor area in which to set up our buffet meals. The Grace Center also has an outdoor deck with tables for dining.

Families can choose to camp for one night, two nights, or just come for the day on Saturday. The Crossover Ceremony will be held Saturday afternoon. Scouts should bring their Class A shirt to wear for the ceremony. Scouts will cross the bridge to receive their neckerchief for their next grade level rank and if completed, receive their rank patch.
