Twilight Swim Party

Event Details:

Meet up with your fellow scouts at Twilight Swim and have fun at the pool! This is a low key event, come for the whole time or just part of it, pay the Daily Admission ($7 - Twilight Swim), and look around for familiar faces! We will make "camp" at the Frog Bog Activity Pool.

Phillip's Park Zoo Keeper Chat

Event Details:

Come on out to Phillip's Park Zoo (1000 Ray Moses Dr, Aurora) for fishing in the morning followed by a keeper chat at the zoo at 10:00. Then we will hopefully get to ride the tram around the property (tickets are free and will be available for reservations after Memorial day). Pack your lunch for a picnic at the playground or the splash pad!

Please register of how many attending so we can reserve enough tram tickets so we can ensure everyone gets a ride!

St. Charles Memorial Day Parade

Line up on Walnut St (between S. 4th St. and S. 5th St.)

Event Details:
We will be marching with BSA Troop 60 and assisting with carrying their giant flag!

PARADE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Optional: 7-9 a.m. Veterans Community Breakfast Fundraiser (at Baker Memorial Church, 307 Cedar Ave.)
  • 9 a.m. drop off/assemble - (on Walnut St between S. 4th St. and S. 5th St.)
    • Plan on the assembly area being closed to cars; scouts will have to walk in; have a drop off and pick up plan.
  • Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. sharp (6th & Main)
  • The parade unofficially ends once we turn onto Riverside, right in front of the fire station. Those of us involved or who want to attend the Memorial Day ceremony will walk the extra block past the fire station to the Freedom Shrine on the river. There, as always, we will have the ceremony.
    • Everyone is encouraged to attend the ceremony
  • For those not attending the ceremony, the parking lot in front of the fire station could be a pick up point for the Scouts

Spring Family Campout

Kings Camp - Chana, IL

Event Details:
Our annual Spring Family Campout will be held on May 17-19, 2024 at King's Camp in Chana, IL. King's Camp is a 90+ acre campground that has a lake full of fish, a playground, basketball court, sand volleyball court and gaga pit. There is a bathhouse with showers and flush toilets nearby as well as potable water and some electricity. We have reserved their "Grace Center" which has a kitchen and an indoor area in which to set up our buffet meals. The Grace Center also has an outdoor deck with tables for dining.

Families can choose to camp for one night, two nights, or just come for the day on Saturday. The Crossover Ceremony will be held Saturday at 4pm. Scouts should bring their Class A shirt to wear for the ceremony. Scouts will cross the bridge to receive their neckerchief for their next grade level rank and if completed, receive their rank patch.

Please sign up by May 8th on the pack website. Please note if you will be camping one night, two nights or coming Saturday only. A sign up is needed even if you just come for the day so that we can plan meals. A campout schedule and packing list are also attached (Coming Soon). Don't forget your refillable water bottle.

COST:
$15 per person excluding Scouts. Scouts are Free!
Cash or Check payment, payable to "Cub Scout Pack 801", can be paid at the April Pack meeting or dropped off at the Simmons house.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Blue and Gold Banquet, Sunday, Feb 25th - RSVP by 2/18

TWO WEEKS TO GO..... DON'T MISS OUT ON THE FUN. REGISTER BY 2/18.

Join us for loads of fun as we celebrate scouting at the Pack 801 Blue and Gold Banquet!

Dinner, Entertainment, and the always delicious Parent/Scout baking contest (awards for taste and design)!

All Scouts, their families and their guests are Welcome!

It's free but please register by 2/18.

Class A Uniform required.

This just in ..... Entertainment will be provided by the Traveling World of Reptiles. They will bring about a dozen different reptiles including a 15 foot python, 5 foot alligator, 40lb tortoise, 4 foot iguana, tarantula, monitor lizard, Giant pixie frog and more! Don't miss out. The show will be funny, interactive and educational. The kids will love it!

Order of events:
Scout Program (including AOL Recognition and cross over)
Entertainment (Reptile show)
Dinner and Dessert (bring your tastiest or most delicious dessert for the contest)

Pinewood Derby Info

Don't forget that there should be NO weights or other added parts sticking down from the bottom of the car (all weights should be recessed into the car if placing them in the underside of the car.
